Rockland Maine….Egypt?

A Few Scenes from Winter in Rockland

Lately, I've been doing artwork without turning such into journal entries, but I aim to get back in a journaling routine. What else is there to do?!  Winter here has been more interesting than we anticipated and we haven't gotten overwhelmed with cabin fever. Each season, even winter, is pretty here. Here's a few scenes from winter in Rockland....

The first piece is of my favorite house in town. It always has lobster buoys cascading from the side of it and tons of lobster traps, too.

We didn't get to see loons until the winter (they hang out at the inland lakes). But lucky for us they winter along the coast so we get to see them every day. They move like huge ships compared to our favorite petite rubber-ducky buffleheads that are like tiny torpedoes. But loons are attractive, too, and fun to watch as they cruise around.

And  the colors of the sea and sky along the coast seem different almost every day, especially at dusk. Thankfully the days are getting longer here much to our delight!
