Rockland Maine….Egypt?

Daily life in Greece's Sporades islands

Samantha and I have spent about half of the past year in Greece.  Here’s an illustrated diary of sights from the Sporadic Islands from last fall.

freddo cappuccino
Despite being our favorite coffee drink, the freddo cappuccino is shockingly unknown outside of Greece. They use a milkshake blender to make a whipped cream layer for the top of a cappuccino. Delicious iced on a hot summer day.

Our friend, Dimitra
Our friend, Dimitra. Her family owns a house in the old town on Alonissos, and we met her there a few years ago.  We got to visit with her In Athens in June from a safe distance (!) in Pedion tou Areos park.  

The swimming on Alónnisos is some of the most serene you can experience. And the pebbly beaches all have stunning views.
